Powerful UX at Scale: How Nexus and Dynamic Make Crypto Simple for Millions of Users

To meet identity and scalability demands, Nexus relied on Dynamic’s embedded wallets and user management tools to streamline onboarding and secure app interactions across its network.

About Nexus

Nexus is building a new foundation for how users and developers engage with blockchains, starting with identity and control. Nexus created a simple app with a powerful zkVM engine for one-click compute contribution. To achieve the vision of building the world's largest distributed supercomputer, Nexus is working on an EVM-compatible Layer 1 designed for apps that offer greater control over user experience.

Nexus believes that every app should have the ability to create tailored UX flows without sacrificing decentralization. Their infrastructure focuses on speed and security, while introducing key primitives such as customizable permissions and modular identity. Traits that make Nexus a strong fit for everything from DeFi to gaming.

Backed by a strong team and an active community, Nexus continues to see steady growth across both its developer ecosystem and network activity. And the team is just getting started. Its emphasis on interoperability and abstraction is setting the stage for a new generation of consumer-ready blockchain apps.

The Challenge

As Nexus continues to evolve, so do its needs around identity and scalability. To support a new generation of applications and the millions of users engaging with them, Nexus needed to address several core obstacles:

  1. Bridging Web2 familiarity with crypto. To reduce onboarding friction at scale, the team needed an onboarding flow that felt intuitive to everyone while still enabling blockchain functionality and self-custody.
  2. Scaling infrastructure to support millions of users. Nexus’ network is home to millions of users. Their partner’s infrastructure had to be robust, reliable, and capable of handling massive spikes in demand without compromising performance.
  3. Enforcing secure access across a distributed network. Nexus gives apps detailed control over how users interact. This made it critical to integrate a wallet solution that could support granular access control from a unified and simple dashboard.
  4. Maintaining speed and flexibility. The nature of Nexus’ ecosystem meant the chosen wallet infrastructure needed to be fast, flexible, and easy to integrate into custom flows across many use cases.

‍The Solution

To power this experience, Nexus turned to Dynamic for a robust suite of authentication and user management tools. Through this integration, Nexus was able to equip users with:

  1. Embedded Wallets with Social Logins: With Dynamic’s embedded wallets and support for social login (including Google, email, SMS, and more), Nexus created a Web2-like onboarding flow while remaining fully non-custodial. This gave users the confidence to engage immediately, while still owning their onchain identity and assets.
  2. Open Channels for White-Glove Support: With Dynamic, the Nexus team didn’t just get infrastructure, they gained a true partner. Open channels with Dynamic’s engineering team ensure rapid, ongoing support whenever needed, from troubleshooting edge cases to preparing for major traffic spikes.
  3. Customizable Developer Dashboard: Nexus leveraged Dynamic’s powerful dashboard to manage authentication, permissions, and user roles. This allowed the Nexus team to easily configure everything through a unified and intuitive interface. It also provided them with a portal to analyze user metrics and analytics.
  4. Integrated Risk and Bot Controls: Dynamic’s built-in fraud protection provided invisible bot detection, IP throttling, wallet blocklisting, and more. Not only does this help Nexus prevent bots and preserve a high-integrity user experience, but it also builds long-term trust with users.
